You will have to move fast to beat Hansel and Gretel to the Gingerbread House. Only a few steps from the ocean, the inn is said to be situated on one of Cape May’s most famous blocks. It is a masterpiece of woodworking and decorated with taste and flair.

The rooms are bright and airy; the porches are filled with comfortable wicker furniture beckoning guests to sit awhile. In the morning a full breakfast is served complete with homemade coffeecakes and granola.
