Bora – Unquestionably the most mythical of the Pacific islands remains the island of all dreams.
The legends, mysteries, and romance associated with the words “Bora Bora” bring an almost mystical presence to the island. The island, located about 230 kilometres northwest of Papeete, is surrounded by a lagoon and a barrier reef.
Bora Bora is predestined for snorkeling and scuba diving in and around its lagoon.
Made famous by books, movies, and its stunning beauty, the island is now besieged by tourism and overcrowding. Regardless, if you must visit a South Pacific island (and you should), Bora Bora would be an excellent choice.

This looks like the most amazing place on earth the pictures are beautiful. This is on the top of my list for a honeymoon destination.
Awesome, awesome enchanted place. I went there on my honeymoon. When you fly in, and you see the island for the first time, it’s like looking at a piece of turquoise jewelery sitting on a deep blue tablecloth. It absolutely the most spectacular place I’ve seen thus far.
My husband I spent a few days on Bora Bora about 8 years ago. We splurged on a hut on the lagoon. We could walk off the back steps and snorkel.We did the shark and Manta Ray feeding too. Amazing and expensive. Back then our room was $500 a night- but I would do it again in a heart beat!
Absolutely amazing! There is probably not a single picture of these beautiful islands that isn’t spectacular.

I got back from Bora Bora and Moorea last April. It was a beautiful island, to say the least. For people from America (the east coast) it’ll cost approx $10,000 to get there and see enough of the French Polynesian islands. And for the record, I prefer Moorea to Bora Bora.

Bora Bora is a beautiful island to visit in south pacific.Vaitape is a nice village situated in bora bora.You will find handmade pearl and shell jewels in the Vaitape market.Twin towering jet black rock volcanic peaks of Pahia and Otemanu are the best attraction.Take a jeep service to visit around the island. People always say that it is very expensive, it is if you are comparing it to closer destinations. It’s certainly not cheap, but don’t let the expense warnings scare you off. Plane tickets from LAX to Papeete about a month from now are anywhere from $1300 to $1500 each. Be sure to take Air Tahiti Nui, as it puts the skanky American carriers to shame.
in my opinion bora bora is the most beautiful islands in the world and you hardly stay just 5 days in it coz, it’s very expensive but it worth every dollar,also if you came from auckland or sydney by air newzealand or air tahiti nui will have the opportunity to live very lovely experiment that live the day twice coz the time different between tahiti and newzealnd is 22hours and the flight take 5 hours only,finaly i recomenndad these islands to visit>1/bora bora2/the maldives3/boracay”philippins”4/bahamas5/hawii6/sychelleys7/phuket AND KOSAMUI”THAILAND”8/fiji9/ANGUILLE10/ireland11/cancun mexico 12/aruba

I have not been there but I have been doing some research on it and I absolutely am amazed with the beauty of this place. I want to go there for my Honeymoon or first year anniversary. It is stunning and mind bogling beautiful. Can’t wait to go there although I heard it is expensive.

When my parents were young and still had the traveling bug, they took me with them to Tahiti and we got to visit Bora Bora. Alas i was only 3 and don’t remember any of it
i did learn how to swim there though
it was back in the mid 80’s when it was still moderately cheap. Wish i could afford to go now

I worked on the cruise ships in Tahiti for 6 months (R4), Bora Bora was really nice. Very, Very expensive. The sand wasn’t powdery like you would think, kinda grainy, and every third son born was raised as a female. Would love to go back again, but have no money at the moment, so these photos will have to suffice
The maldives has much better islands then that..
