It’s believed that Panama is going to be one of the top destinations in the world this year as more and more travelers are discovering everything the wonderful country has to offer.

There’s no need to wait though, as one of the country’s top festivals, the 8th annual Panama Jazz Festival takes place in Panama City between Jan. 10th and 15th. The festival, which began in 2004, is now widely recognized as one of the top events in music education and jazz in Latin America.

The annual cultural event typically attracts crowds of 100,000 people or more to several different venues around the historic and scenic city.

Apart from offering fantastic concerts, the festival also includes a series of educational clinics, programs, and workshops by leading institutes such as the New England Conservatory, the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, the Berklee College of Music, and the Princeton University’s Golandsky Piano Institute.

Many of the workshops and clinics deal in things such as Panamanian folklore, children’s programs, music, technology, and even yoga. This year’s performers include Danilo Pérez, Adam Cruz, Ben Street, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Conrad Herwig, Claudia Acuna, Brian Lynch, Riccardo Del Fra, the Harlem String Quartet, Paoli Mejías, Alain Pérez, Daniel Garcia, and Jorge Perez Gonzales.
