There are so many things to do and see in Las Vegas and it’s no wonder it’s also known as Sin City. However, there are also many family attractions here as well. These are some of the most exciting ones:

The Strip

 

1. The Strip

The main focal point of Las Vegas is the city’s famous Strip, which is basically a part of Las Vegas Boulevard. It’s about 3.5 miles long and houses the city’s most popular hotels and casinos. The Strip is bustling with activity all day long and its multitude of neon lights make it quite a sight from the airplane if you’re landing at night.

2. The Lions at the MGM Grand Hotel

If you head over to the MGM Grand hotel and casino you’ll be able to get a close up view of some majestic lions as they climb rocks and roam around behind a huge glass window. There’s no fee involved and it’s quite fascinating to see how the lions interact with each other.

3. The Little Church of the West

The Little Church of the West, which was erected in 1942, sits at the end of the Strip. The small chapel is regarded as one of the most charming and beautiful in Las Vegas. It’s a popular site for celebrity weddings and some of Hollywood’s biggest actors have been married here, such as Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie and Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere. The church was also featured in the motion picture “Viva Las Vegas” as the wedding site for Ann Margaret and Elvis Presley.

4. Cirque du Soleil

The artistic Cirque du Soleil performances have been entertaining visitors to Las Vegas ever since 1993. The famous entertainment troop from Quebec, Canada puts on several unique shows at a variety of Las Vegas hotspots including Treasure Island, the Bellagio, New York-New York, the MGM Grand, the Mirage, the Luxor and the City Center.

5. The Bellagio Fountains

Every 30 minutes in the afternoon the fountains at the Bellagio erupt in a spectacular water show. Once the sun goes down the show starts every 15 minutes on the eight-acre lake which sits in the front of the casino and hotel. The amazing show features music that’s synchronized with the jets of water and colored lights.

6. The Welcome to Las Vegas Sign

The Welcome to Las Vegas sign is arguably the most recognizable city sign in the world. It’s featured in hundreds of movies and is a popular tourist spot as visitors love to be photographed at the site. The sign is actually listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places because of its popularity and history.

7. Glitter Gulch

The area known as Glitter Gulch is the section of the Las Vegas strip that housed some of the city’s very first casinos decades ago. These include historical and famous locations such as the Golden Nugget and Binion’s Horseshoe.

8. The Forum Shops in Caesars Palace

If you head over to Caesars Palace casino and hotel you’ll find some of the best shopping in all of Las Vegas. There’s a large mall there which features some of the top designer brands on the globe. These include Gucci, Valentino, and Christian Dior.

9. The Volcano at the Mirage

Once the night time falls you’ll be able to witness a colourful and exciting volcano eruption in front of the Mirage casino and hotel. The thunderous and fiery show starts every 15 minutes and lights up the dark sky in front of the hotel.

10. The Stratosphere

The Stratosphere casino hotel’s tower is the tallest in Las Vegas and the observation deck is actually the tallest in all of America at a height of approximately 1150 feet. The Stratosphere features four different thrill rides with the Big Shot drop tower being the tallest on the planet at 1088 feet.
