Georgia Aquarium, located in Atlanta, Georgia at Pemberton Place is the world’s largest aquarium with more than 8.1 million US gallons of fresh marine water.

Watching more than 100,000 animals of 500 different species in one place is likely to be one of the most memorable experiences of your life.

Ralph and Norton are definitely the biggest stars of Georgia aquarium.  Almost 20 feet long and growing, these two stunning sharks are members of the biggest fish species on earth.

These two massive sharks are housed in an almost 6 million gallon tank and share their space with thousands of other fish including red snappers, sawfish, hammerhead sharks and sting rays. If you do visit Georgia aquarium, be sure not to miss these awesome examples of the shark species.

Other famous specimens are four young whale sharks and a few very rare marine species. The aquatic animals in Georgia Aquarium are displayed in 4 different galleries, namely Georgia Explorer, cold water quest, river scout, and Ocean Voyager. Each gallery corresponds to a specific environment.

The Georgia Explorer section exhibits Georgia’s coast with touch tanks full of shrimps, sting rays, horseshoe crabs and sea stars. River Scout features an overhead river where you can see North American fishes.

Cold water quest mainly features animals from the Polar Regions and contains most of the mammals in the entire aquarium’s collection. Ocean Voyager includes the vast majority of the aquarium’s water and almost 100,000 species of fishes.
