Massachusetts is one of America’s favourite states for a vacation as it’s filled with rugged coastlines, rolling blue hills, rustic villages and plenty of waterways. Massachusetts offers visitors an excellent history lesson through its numerous exhibits, galleries, monuments, statues and museums.

Boston offers plenty of big-city attractions and there are many smaller charming places to visit such as the Berkshires, Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, and Nantucket. There are also plenty of other spots to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean in the state. Some of the other popular sites to visit are Cambridge, Lowell, Worcester, Springfield, and Plymouth.

Of course Plymouth is famous as this is the place where British settlers arrived back in 1620 and harvested the land with Native Americans. Massachusetts’ residents also fought for their independence from Great Britain during the American Revolution years later and eventually became the Union’s sixth state in 1788.

There are many trails if you’d like to explore the countryside. These include the Appalachian Trail, the Midstate Trail, the Bay Circuit Trail, the Freedom Trail, and the New England Scenic Trail. There are plenty of other outdoor activities to keep you busy including sailing, yachting, hunting, fishing, skiing, and whale watching.

Some of the state’s other historic attractions include the U.S.S. Constitution, the Springfield Armory National Historic Site, the Dickinson Homestead, the Minute Man National Historical Park, and the Norman Rockwell Museum.

Massachusetts offers an excellent choice of accommodations as it’s full of charming country inns, bed and breakfasts, and top-class hotels in a variety of price ranges. You’ll also be able to taste some of the best and freshest seafood in North America there.
