When it comes to basking in the sun and playing in the sea and sand, the south coast of Portugal is one of the best places in the world to visit. The area, which sits in the famous Algarve region of the country, is one of the most popular with local citizens and many other Europeans.

Praia Da Rocha

Every town from east to west is interesting and has something unique to offer. One of the liveliest and loveliest of these towns is definitely Praia da Rocha, which translates into ‘beach of rocks.”

The sandy beach is located below the town’s cliffs, and is both wide and long. It offers some spectacular scenery with the large orange rocks that sit close to the shoreline. It’s an excellent spot for sunbathing, swimming, surfing, and other water sports.

The town offers a wide assortment of hotels, resorts, cafes, pubs, restaurants, and shops. You can find everything from British and Dutch pubs to local Portuguese cafes. Another great thing about Praia da Rocha is the transportation service as it’s easy to walk to the nearby town of Portimao and catch a bus to just about anywhere in the Algarve region.

There’s also a train station in Portimao and an international airport about 25 miles away in the popular town of Faro. The road system is also excellent if you’d like to rent a car and explore the area at your own leisure.
