Hong Kong is always a fascinating and interesting place to visit and for those heading there between July 9 and Aug. 15, 2010 you can take in the Hong Kong International Arts Carnival.

The event is one of the most anticipated and popular in Hong Kong as it offers numerous programmes and activities for people of all ages.

These include a wide range of events and acts such as musicians, dancers, clowns, acrobats, and puppets, etc. It also features free exhibitions, workshops, cultural sites, and other types of family entertainment.

The carnival is put on by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and has been entertaining people since it launched in 2000. The event features performers and entertainers from a slew of countries around the world, including Australia, Canada, France, Spain, Japan, and Russia. It also showcases many talented local performers.

These people specialize in multimedia theatre, music, puppetry, drama, comedic physical theatre, and children’s films.

The programmes are placed into four series, with each one being geared towards a specific age group. For instance, ABC, Come and See, is designed for children aged three to six.

HeARTS Linked is aimed at families, the New Generation Series is ideal for teenagers, and Hong Kong – An Infinite City is associated with the World Expo 2010.
