Tennis fans, especially those of the women’s game, will be able to catch some of the top players in the world when they do battle on the hard courts from Sept. 26th to Oct. 2nd 2010, at Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo, Japan in the Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Tournament.

There’s prize money of US $2,000,000 to be won. So the tennis is bound to be highly competitive and exciting.

This popular tennis tournament has definitely established itself over the years as a Tier I event on the WTA Tour.

The ladies-only singles’ and doubles’ event has seen Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova compete in it in the past, as well as Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport.

This year the tournament will feature the exciting talents of Kimiko Date-Krumm, Serena Williams, Dinara Safina, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Caroline Wozniacki, Elena Dementieva, Victoria Azarenka, Jelena Jankovic, Vera Zvonareva, and Agnieszka Radwanska.

The stadium is easy to get to by train and bus and you may want to check out the singles qualifying games which take place on Sept. 24th-25th, 2010.

You’ll also be able to watch some players practice and the games at center court can be protected from rain by a retractable roof.
