The murders and everything that took place in the drug conflic area are people who are involved in the drug business, as the warning also states. Mexico is a very large country and there are miles and miles separating the northern states and locations such as Cancun, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco. I travel to these places often, just returned from celebrating my b-day in Cancun with my entire family and friends and I had no issue. But I would advice Spring breakers to use common sence and not ruin other people's vacations.
