The St Petersburg International Winter Festival Arts Square in Russia has been entertaining people since it was launched back in 1998. This year’s annual edition will take place from Dec. 14th to Dec. 24th and it will be led by famous maestro Yuri Temirkanov of Russia.

The event features popular ballet performances as well as an entertaining music programme. This includes a performance by Temirkanov’s St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, which was known in the past as the famous Leningrad Philharmonic. Concerts are held every evening during the festival, featuring some of Russia’s best performers.

The fabulous St. Petersburg Arts Square region is made up of some of the city’s and the country’s most famous cultural venues and museums. Many of these centers, including the Musical Comedy Theatre and St Petersburg Philharmonic join together to put on the International Winter Festival Arts Square.

The major attraction of the festival is classical music as it features regular concerts by both the Mariinsky Theatre, and Philharmonic Orchestras. The cultural festival also includes and showcases several interesting museum exhibitions each year. The exhibitions will be held at the State Russian Museum this year and will feature exhibits on early Russia and villains and heroes of Russian History.
