goaGoa is the smallest state of India and is known for its many wonderful beaches making it perfect place for a summer vacation and it has lots to offer the tourist besides a place to catch the rays of the sun.

Every type of water sport is possible here, from jet skiing to windsurfing and much, much more.

Snorkelling and scuba diving attract the usual enthusiasts and there are many species of animals to look out for in this abundant region. The Cotigao Wild Life sanctuary is perfect for enjoying the various types of wildlife that are native to Goa.

It is a heady mix of old and modern life, with traditional fisherman still spreading their nets for their daily catch, which they fill up their baskets with ready for the market.

There are many old churches built by missionaries arriving back in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Holy areas include Se Cathedral, the Basilica of Bom Jesus and the Church of St. Francis of Assisi.

Portuguese influences are everywhere, not least in the religion of Christianity which goes back to the sixteenth century. There are plenty of interesting places to visit like Mormugao, Vasco da Gama and historic Margao. The capital city is Panaji and it is known for its abundance of floral and fauna.

There are many wonderful beaches and these come alive at the night with a festival like atmosphere. There are Baga, Colva and Anjuna Beach; also the Dona Paula Beach is very popular. Open air concerts are frequently held in the Summer for tourists.
