One of the most popular events in the world for snow lovers is the Snowbombing Festival which is set to take place from Apr. 4th to 9th in Mayrhofen, Austria.
The event is famous for the exciting snowboarding it provides as well as concerts, parties, and chalet-hopping. It features some of the best disc jockeys, performers, and snowboarders on the globe as they all converge on this picturesque resort for an ultimate week of fun and action.
The Snowbombing Festival takes over the whole resort. You’ll be able to hear the sound systems pumping out the tunes during the day and night as the planet’s best snowboarders duel it out on the slopes. The festival is an excellent combination of music, parties, and outdoor winter activities.
As an added bonus, this year’s edition of Snowbombing will feature a comedy festival called Altitude. The show will feature the best of live British comedy as it will feature Andrew Maxwell, Craig Campbell, Rufus Hound, Abandoman, Tony Woods, Mark Walker, Marcus Brigstocke, and Terry Alderton. The comedy shows will run for three nights at the Europahaus venue.
There are parties galore, including the Street Party and Backcountry Party. The Backcountry Party is especially popular as guests are taken by bus through a 1.5-mile long tunnel into the middle of a mountain and then on to the valley of Floitental. You’ll end up at a 200-year-old wooden farmstead which has been converted into a party venue. The building has split level bars, a sound system, a balcony, stage, minstrels gallery, and decks.
Musicians keep you entertained outside and you’re kept warm under the stars by huge campfires. There are also several types of lumberjack contests to join in on. This year’s musical performers include Caged Baby, The Cuban Bros., Dave Beer, Matt Horne, and Squeaky Hill.
