Travelling by train is a wonderful way to witness some of the world’s most spectacular scenery. These are some of the best train trips to take:
A trip aboard the Royal Scotsman will take you rolling through some of the Scottish Highland’s most fantastic landscapes, which include calm lochs, mountain peaks, the natural coastline and the wild countryside.
When you board the El Chepe train, it will take you from Chihuahua across the countryside to Los Mochis.
On the way it follows the imposing and impressive landscapes in the Sierra Tarahumara as well as the Copper Canyon.
The scenic route takes travellers over 37 bridges and through 87 tunnels.
3. Southeast Asia
The Eastern and Oriental Express train takes passengers on a luxurious adventure from Singapore to Malaysia to Thailand. The trip whizzes past rubber plantations and golden temples while it chugs along from Singapore to Thailand.
The Glacier Express train trip takes you through the Swiss mountains as it rolls along the tracks from St. Moritz to Zermatt. The spectacular journey is 7.5 hours long and it creeps through 91 tunnels and crosses over 291 bridges.
The train known as the Rocky Mountaineer takes you on a breathtaking journey through the province of British Columbia and features some amazing natural sites as you’ll glide by a variety of waterfalls, glaciers, limestone caves and Yoho National Park.
