The first half-term school holidays of the New Year are finally here. With short evenings, dark mornings and cold nights, make sure to make the most of daylight hours by doing something fun with your family. If you live in or around Hampshire, then you’re in luck. There are plenty of great attractions in the shire that will keep your kids entertained during the holidays.

Isle of Wight

Butser Ancient Farm

Plan a trip to the Butser Ancient Farm to explore some ancient worlds during these half-term holidays. Your kids can learn ancient skills from hands-on demonstration while you can take part in a themed trail around ancient buildings of the Farm and warm yourself up with hot chocolate. Winchester Science Centre

You must not hold yourself back from going to the Winchester Science Centre this February because it’s an ideal location for space exploration. Theatre Royal Winchester

Return to the Forbidden Planet, presented by “Encore Youth Theatre,” is coming to Theatre Royal Winchester on 21st Feb. There are two shows on 21st and one on the 23rd of February, so make sure to attend one. It’ll provide a cosmic adventure like no other.

Lepe Country Park

Visit Lepe Country Park during the half-term holidays to take part in the Bird Aware Day celebrations. It’s a fascinating event that’ll allow you to learn about wintering birds.
