Patong Beach In Phuket Is The Place To Be

One of the most popular places to visit over the past couple of years has been the island of Phuket, which is the largest island in Thailand. It was known as Junk Ceylon in English back in 17th century and is located in the Andaman Sea, off the west coast of the mainland.

Phuket is now the in place to be when it comes to island holidays in Asia as it offers beautiful sandy beaches, a wide range of hotels and resorts, as well as exceptional scenery, not to mention fantastic weather year round.

While it’s now a successful tourist area, Phuket has a colorful and rich history as it used to be one of the major trading stops between China and India.

One of the island’s most popular spots is Patong Beach, on the west coast, as it’s filled with excellent hotels and restaurants to fit all budgets.

The town also features a variety of massage parlors, pubs, nightclubs, and excellent deals on shopping, especially on Bangla Road. And while it’s a bustling and busy spot with a happening nightlife, you never seem to feel crowded there. The beach is about two miles long and is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving.

After visiting Patong Beach, it’s easy to understand why this hidden gem is starting to attract more tourists from all over the world on a yearly basis. There are many daily flights from Bangkok which take just over an hour, with Patong being about 45 minutes away from Phuket Airport.
