The Lone Star state of Texas is well known as the home of cowboys and oil wells, but there’s a lot more to this region than just history.

In fact, it’s the host to one of the loudest, biggest, and most diverse fairs in America. You can witness this for yourself if you visit the annual State Fair of Texas between Sept. 24 and Oct. 17th 2010, at the Fair Park in the beautiful cosmopolitan city of Dallas.

This eagerly-awaited carnival is definitely one of the favourites with locals and visitors alike as it is mainly an agricultural show that features numerous interesting exhibitions and displays.

The event also showcases a wide variety of entertainment and other events.

These include sporting contests, live music, creative arts, livestock, celebrity chefs, eating competitions, and an auto show, plus much more.

It’s a great place for people of all ages and families to enjoy themselves and they’ve been doing it since the first State Fair of Texas was held way back in 1886.

In fact, it was even popular back then as the initial fair drew 100,000 visitors to it. The event has grown over the years and now attracts over 3.5 million visitors to it each year.
