Yosemite is rightfully considered a summer travel paradise. For those crammed in the hot cities, in love with nature and looking for a breath of fresh air the beauty of the Yosemite’s free spirit beats every other possible summer getaway. But, why should you go to see the Yosemite and Sequoia parks this summer?
Summer is the time when this amazing lake looks at its best. Sadly the sedimentation process will turn the lake into a meadow in the upcoming years but so far you can still make the most of the advantage to see the mirror perfect image of the surrounding forest and mountain domes reflected in the shallow waters.
One of the tallest waterfalls in the world offers an insight in the untamed nature of the mountain waters. In summer the falls sprays a thin curtain of refreshing drops able to cool the hot traveler coming to see it.
This is the place to climb for the purpose to admire the entire Yosemite land at its best. Here you can see eye to eye with Cloud’s Rest, Half Dome and North Dome.
The Giant Forest
Summer is the best time to explore this natural wonder of Sequoia park. The huge stands of trees and amazing meadows are making the tourist’s heart awe in the face of what nature has created out of sheer greatness. Here you can find the general Sherman tree – the biggest tree in the world according to volume measurements.
The Crystal Cave
If you go south of the Giant Forest, you will have the chance to visit the Crystal Cave. Limestone formations turned into marble over many centuries and now the tourists have the privilege to witness a curtain of continuously growing stalactites and stalagmites.
This amazing valley of pristine beauty lies in the south of the Sequoia Park. The valley was carved by glaciers between the two peaks of Great Western Divide. The amazing scenery makes the sunrise and the sunset look beyond surprising.
Places in rough granite surroundings, Tenaya lake amazes the tourists with its crystal clear waterswhich make it the best looking lake in the Yosemite Park. It is accessible by road only in summer and it is truly unique.
Regardless of which one you want to see first, Yosemite and Sequoia parks are something you should not miss visiting this summer.
