The Outdoors Retailers show is a host of new traveling gear for the season. Brands like Patagonia, Keen, Colombia, Kelty, Mountain Gear and Teva have come with plenty of new gear to make your outdoor trip more comfortable.

There is a marked difference this year. The market has more practical travel gear that is worth the money spent on it, economical and well priced traveling gear which are multi purpose too.

Gone are the days of highly specialized and expensive gear. You can find your share of it, if that is what you are looking for.

Enjoying the outdoors is a relatively less expensive activity for a family or couple. This could be one of the reasons why recession has not hit this industry too badly. But the effect is there in the form of more affordable and practical travel gear.

There is a need to create more awareness about the benefits of an outdoor life and efforts are on to get more of the young people hooked to this lifestyle. The outdoor gear industry may not be facing a recession, but it does have a demographic problem to handle with most of their customers being from the male white population.
