Lanzarote is a long standing favorite with sun, sea and sand seekers around the world. With year round sunshine and gorgeous beaches, the island offers the perfect solution for busy workers to recharge their batteries. Whether you’re teaming up with your other half, on a girlie getaway or with the kids in tow, there’s something to suit everyone.

For couples looking for a relaxing break, switch off your phone and set off for Playa Blanca. Featuring an ideal blend of beaches, cocktail bars and shopping you’ll be two happy campers in Lanzarote’s largest resort. With a choice of three beaches, a host of water activities and day trips into the mountains, you can really take it at your own pace. Enjoy evening strolls along the promenade before tucking into some fresh seafood at a waterfront restaurant. After a few mimosas you can finally nail that duet at a local karaoke bar. Although the area does feature a few bars, if it’s a fun break with the girls you’re after, then Puerto Del Carmen may be the one for you.

 Lanzarote

Puerto Del Carmen is home to Lanzarote’s night life. Having evolved from a quaint fishing village into a sanctuary for young holidaymakers, this area is ideal for a well-earned break with friends. You can take it easy during the day and make your way to the Old Town for a more peaceful beach or take a trip to Timanfaya national park to see volcanic craters. The local eateries here even use lava heat to whip up popular dishes. The area truly comes to life at night with a strip packed full of different bars, restaurants and nightclubs offering everything from jazz to bass. On the other hand, unless your children love disco, families will feel much more at home in areas like Costa Teguise.

Costa Teguise

Costa Teguise is a hit with tourists and local families alike. Home to five sandy beaches, the area also enjoys a refreshing breeze along the coast, allowing the kids to comfortably play in the sun. Looking beyond the beaches, the area is also home to a water park featuring wave pools and slides designed with children in mind. The majority of resorts also offer a kids club and child minding service so that Mum and Dad can indulge in some downtime to try out windsurfing lessons, delve into the shopping mall or play a round of golf.

With a beach for every occasion it’s no wonder Lanzarote continues to draw in the holidaymakers. Take each day on the Canary Islands at your own pace and you’ll head back home with a fresh head.
