The Art Basel Miami Beach event takes place in the wonderful Florida city between December 2nd and 5th, 2010. The popular art show is the sister event to the Art Basel show in Switzerland. The Miami Beach event is billed as the largest contemporary art show in America as it features more than 250 leading art galleries that showcase their drawings, paintings, and sculptures, etc. at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The event also features video, multimedia art, and photography, as well as live performances and exhibits by hundreds of artists from around the world. The show has all types of art including classical modern and contemporary from Latin America, North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
The social and cultural highlight also offers a variety of crossover events that feature design and architecture. Some exhibition sites are situated in Miami Beach’s wonderful Art Deco area.
The works of art are from the 20th and 21st centuries and are by newcomers and renowned artists. The show’s special exhibitions showcase performance art, young galleries, video art, and public art projects. There are also special programs for curators and art collectors.
