One of the oldest and most fun festivals in America is the Circleville Pumpkin Show in Circleville, Ohio, which attracts about 300,000 visitors each year.

The festival features a competitive pumpkin weigh-in, several parades and a pumpkin pie-eating contest. Last year the winning pumpkin was weighed at an amazing 1,635.5 lbs.

The event, which runs from Oct. 20 to 23rd features several types of foods that are made of pumpkins, such as ice cream, cookies, cake, fudge, and doughnuts.

There are also parades for babies, pets and the Pumpkin Show Queen.

The annual free festival started out as an agricultural event and street fair back in 1903. It has grown steadily in all aspects over the years and is now the sixth-biggest festival in America.

The festival aims to promote a friendly atmosphere in the community and to showcase displays of Fruits, Grains, and Vegetables.

Entertainment is everywhere during the Circleville Pumpkin Show with many types of marching bands and diverse live performances as well as arts and crafts, dancing, zoo shows, and giant pumpkin sculpting.

The fun is ideal for families and people of all ages and interests.

Any profits made at the show are donated to the town of Circleville for various types of community projects.
