Louisville, Kentucky will host the St. James Court Art Show from Oct.1st-3rd 2010, and this year’s fine arts and crafts show will feature over 750 North-American artists.

The event takes place in the historic city of Old Louisville, where you’ll be able to see some of America’s finest examples of Victorian architecture and homes. The show provides visitors with a great taste of rich artistic and cultural legacy.

The first St. James Court Art Show was held way back in 1957 and started as a place where anybody could enter an art exhibit.

Music was then added to the show in the early years and it included chamber music, big band concerts, and choral performances.

The event also provided a chance to celebrate the culture and history of St James Court buy honouring the city’s authors, poets, and mayors.

The show has grown over the years and now also features wonderful displays of paintings, antiques, flowers, photographs, portrait sketches, painted stones, assorted bric-a-brac, and ceramics, as well as a poster competition. The art show has gained national recognition as an excellent event that focuses on hand-crafted art.

The St. James Court Art Show was voted as America’s best art show in a survey of artists for the years 2003, 2004 and 2006 and not attracts 300,000 visitors a year.
