If you are planning a trip to Barbados, be sure to save a weekend evening for the neighborhood fish fry. On the western coast of the island, look for St. Peter’s Parish on the northern end.
Here you’ll find Little Good Harbor, a hotel built on the remains of a 17th century fort that later was used to store sugar.
The restaurant at Little Good Harbor is called The Fish Pot. It is atop the original foundation of the fort, and some of its walls were once part of the original fort.
Spend some time on the beach here and you’ll find more peace and quiet than anywhere farther south on the western coast of the island.
Every weekend, the locals come to the beach for a fish fry, held within walking distance from the hotel (or someone from the hotel can drive you if you wish). You can enjoy dining al fresco on the beach with the freshest sea food and friendly island hospitality.
The Little Good Harbor is a favorite destination of the stars, who are known for finding the very best travel destinations. You might see Mel B., Mel Gibson or even the Beckhams enjoying the beach here.
